Alfa147, 156 & GT 1.9 JTD swirl flap pics OK, so I thought it might be useful for other JTD owners to see the state my inlet manifold was in when removed. A wee bit of history, the car in question is a 147 1.9 JTDm 16v Ti which is serviced annually and always before it's due as I do around 11k miles a year. Thesame basic configuration, but the turbo is different and the 159 emits no smoke having a particle filter and a different ECU. also the 156 grew from 140 to 150 bhp, the 159 16V Jtd is always 150bhp. Emmissions are different as is torque. Its a pure Fiat Group product - GM bought it, the twin turbo is in the Lancia as well as the Saab. Sayingthat, it is between £650-£750 to have one fitted but it is a cracking mod. Plus, the fact you have a 156 means you don't have a JTD fitted with swirl flaps so that's a £300 saving right there :thumbup:. Well, had it not been for this issue, the first mod I would have done would be fitting Eibach ARB's. Unplugthe electric fan and unscrew and remove the plastic frame that holds the fan to the engine side of the rad. Yes it will come out between the rad and the engine! Undo the top bolt (under the slam plate) so the rad can tilt towards the engine and the side bolts to the frame. Work around the rad to remove the bumper side cowling and aircon ix1K0.
